CHIGAMIK/Waypoint Community Health Hub Update - Site preparation and tree update

Ground breaking for the new CHIGAMIK/Waypoint Community Health Hub took place on October 23, 2017.

Preparation of the site on Bayshore Drive in Midland is beginning in October and neighbours and the public will soon see excavation equipment and crews at work. While much effort has been put forward to ensure as many trees as possible are not disturbed during construction, three large maple trees at the front of the site have been assessed for disease and other concerns including being hollow and will be removed. A set of younger trees to the west at the front of the property close to the Bayshore/Manly St. corner are healthy and will be relocated to the back west corner of the lot.

The site plan includes the addition of more trees to the lot than are currently present, ensuring that the three trees removed will be replaced.  It also includes other foliage and landscaping that will complement the parkland adjacent to the property.
