Waypoint set to host 5th Annual sold-out Fundraising Dinner featuring comedian Jessica Holmes

Tickets have long been sold-out for Waypoint’s 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner on March 2 featuring Canadian comedian Jessica Holmes.

The dinner is the hospital’s largest fundraiser of the year and is made possible in part by the generous title sponsorship of TD Bank Group. Along with a four year commitment to fund clinical training, TD has now donated $200,000 to the hospital over the last 5 years.

Waypoint offers it’s sincerest thanks to TD Bank Group at their Penetanguishene Branch
for their generosity and for making mental health a priority

“TD Bank Group’s support has made it possible for our hospital to upgrade equipment, enhance patient spaces, improve clinical care and provide clinical training to our staff,” says Carol Lambie, President and CEO. “They are truly making good things happen right here in our region and we offer our sincere thanks to the amazing team at TD for making mental health and our patients a priority.”

The evening will feature a reception with live entertainment, a three-course meal, silent auction and special presentation by Jessica Holmes. Best known for her work with Royal Canadian Air Farce, Jessica devotes much of her time to helping others live well, and mixes humour with her message about the importance of de-stressing and laughing at life’s shortcomings. She speaks with intelligence and insight about her own experiences dealing with post-partum depression, finding work-life balance and re-igniting passion.

“This is not only an important fundraiser for our hospital,” says Board Chair John Barrett-Hamilton. “We select speakers each year who have an important message to share and Jessica’s story of her gradual descent into depression and how she bounced back fits the bill perfectly and helps in our efforts to reduce the stigma of mental illness.”
