Waypoint's volunteers inspire hope, reduce isolation, enhance patient self-esteem, helpGift Shop Volunteers eliminate stigma, and improve the quality of life for patients by sharing their time, knowledge, and generous hearts. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and volunteer for a variety of reasons.

We offer a variety of opportunities for volunteers who are interested in assisting people who have mental illness with direct and in-direct care opportunities that include:
  • pet therapy
  • spiritual care visitors
  • entertainers
  • one-to-one visitors
  • activity assistants
  • income tax assistants

Volunteers are recruited using Best Practice Guidelines. They receive training and orientation prior to an assignment and further support, learning and supervision via a staff mentor.
