Making progress at the new CHIGAMIK-Waypoint Community Health Hub
Waypoint and CHIGAMIK are pleased to announce the construction of the new Health Hub on Bayshore Drive in Midland has begun!
The hub will house CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre and Waypoint’s outpatient and community programs currently located in Midland, services that are available to all area residents. Site work began in late 2017 and it’s expected to the Hub will be open to the community in December 2018.
The Health Hub is a new, modern medical building with an innovative design and site location that uses the hill on the property to not impose upon the residential community. The building includes a stunning building façade with nighttime lighting, sidewalks and landscaping that complement the adjacent parkland and the new proposed waterfront development across the street.
The communities will benefit not only from having collaborative health services under one roof, but also economically as local, regional and provincial construction and building suppliers are involved in the project.
Waypoint and CHIGAMIK continue to work through the approval process required by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Stay tuned as we continue to keep our community up to date!
