Official launch of the 2020 Core Value Awards
Now, more than ever, our staff deserve to be recognized!
We all know colleagues whose performance, attitude, behaviour and actions embrace our core values and are worthy of being nominated for a core value award!
WHAT IS A CORE VALUE AWARD?
The Core Value Awards celebrate Waypoint staff who contribute significantly to the greater good or mission by exemplifying exceptional values-based behaviours. This can be through actions that are simple and special or grand and complex. It is also for actions that are beyond the day-to-day job duties and responsibilities.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All Waypoint employees are eligible to be nominated.
WHO CAN NOMINATE?
Employees, volunteers, patients, clients, family members, partners, and health professionals affiliated with Waypoint are eligible to submit a nomination.
HOW ARE RECIPIENTS SELECTED?
Nominations are voted on by various groups from across the hospital including the senior leadership team, Patient/Client & Family Council, Ethics Committee and representatives from AMAPCEO, OPSEU, Medical Staff and professional disciplines.
HOW DO I NOMINATE?
Each award has a separate nomination form.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
When considering a nomination submission, think about how the nominee(s) have demonstrated criteria.
It’s important to provide as much information as possible about what the nominee has done to demonstrate their excellence. Tell us your story and use relevant examples to showcase the impact of their actions.
Feel free to add any additional information about how the nominee is exceptional and describe any “WOW” factor the nominee has displayed in relation to the Core Values.
AFTER A NOMINATION IS SUBMITTED…
* All valid nominations will be considered for voting. Additional information may be requested to
support a nomination.
* While we don’t know what the Celebration of Excellence will look like this year given current COVID-
19 restrictions, the hospital is committed to recognizing all nominees. Stay tuned for more details.
* All nominees will be showcased in the Bulletin, in an email series and at the Celebration of Excellence.
* All nominees receive a certificate and their names are posted on the Recognizing Excellence wall.
* Award recipients receive a certificate, an engraved frame with their name and award category, and a
brochure to select an award.
* The award recipients’ photos and summary of their nomination will be posted on the Recognizing
Excellence wall, posted on our website and used for media/social media.
