Increasing Access to Structured Psychotherapy in North Simcoe Muskoka

Increasing Access to Structured Psychotherapy (IASP) is a program funded by
Referral Form 
the Government of Ontario to provide individuals who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression with access to free in-person individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

In North Simcoe Muskoka, the program is being delivered in a wide-range of settings, including primary care, community mental health and family services agencies.

CBT is a structured, time-limited therapy that is problem-focused and goal-oriented, and teaches practical strategies and skills. 

The program is intended to increase access for all eligible individuals including Indigenous peoples and Francophones. 

The program is also being evaluated to help inform future programming across Ontario.

Who is eligible?
Individuals 18 years or older with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression:
   * Score of 15 or less on the Generalized Anxiety Assessment Scale (GAD-7)
   * Score between 4-19 on the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) for depression

How to refer a client to the program?
A primary care provider or other regulated health professional must submit a referral on behalf of a client. Referrals forms can be faxed 705-549-7330.

Alternatively, if your organization is delivering the IASP program, a referral can be made internally.

What happens after the referral is submitted?
Once the referral is submitted, the referring health professional will receive one of the following responses:
   * The client was accepted into the program
   * Further supporting documentation is required
   * Other services would be more suitable
