Hand Hygiene Reporting

In the healthcare setting, hand hygiene is the single most important way to prevent healthcare associated infections. Healthcare providers have a responsibility to provide safe care, and this simple intervention is key, not to mention, the right thing to do! Proper hand hygiene will protect patients and providers, reduce the spread of infections and the costs associated with treating infection, reduce hospital lengths of stay and readmissions, reduce wait times and prevent deaths.

Waypoint conducts yearly hand hygiene audits before and after patient contact. The results are submitted to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and posted on this website.

The 2011/2012 results are very positive and reveal an overall compliance rate of 75.5%.
