What we offer...
Compensation and benefits are highly competitive. We value our physicians and we ensure they have opportunities to contribute to research, quality improvement and education.
We offer physicians career development opportunities in teaching and research, quality improvement and leadership/administration. Waypoint has academic affiliations with five Ontario medical institutions and candidates will be encouraged to apply for a university appointment if they do not already have one.
We are accepting expressions of interest by candidates who hold an MD or equivalent and certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and who are eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. Current priority areas include acute inpatient psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation community outreach, dual diagnosis outpatient care, forensic mental health inpatient psychiatry and regional geriatric mental health services. We are also accepting expressions of interest by candidates who hold an MD or equivalent, are certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, who are eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario and who are interested in providing physical healthcare to our inpatient population.
Preference will be given to a candidate who is interested in contributing to our academic culture through one or more of the above activities, and who thrives as part of a collaborative team.
Remuneration is salaried and very competitive, with additional benefits including vacation, sick leave, education leave, professional development funds, relocation allowance, and a fantastic pension plan. Independent contractor arrangements are also offered. Remuneration for child and adolescent mental health specialists is through an alternate payment plan (APP).
Waypoint is located in the Town of Penetanguishene, on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, less than two hours from Toronto and approximately 45 minutes from Barrie. Outdoor recreational opportunities in all four seasons abound in this area of natural beauty. Golfing, curling, fishing, boating, hiking, snowmobiling are just a few of the fun things to do here. At Waypoint, we believe in maintaining a work environment where people find meaning, enjoyment, and professional growth in their work while balancing and integrating with other aspects of their lives.
