It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Nicole Mace as Waypoint’s new Vice-President, People, and Chief Human Resources Officer.
In this role, she will have responsibility for attracting, retaining and developing an engaged and effective workforce to deliver on our mission. An accomplished leader with almost 20 years of experience at Waypoint, she will start her new position on April 14, 2025.
Most recently, Nicole served as Director, Organizational Development. In that role, she played a major role in developing and executing Waypoint’s People Plan, including creating a strong pathway for developing leaders and implementing new digital tools to improve employee engagement and well-being. Nicole’s other notable achievements include implementing the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s National Standards for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, as well as being the driving force behind Waypoint’s 2024 Award of Excellence from Excellence Canada.
Beyond Waypoint, Nicole has also grown strong relationships with partners, providing leadership to hospitals and community support services throughout Central Ontario to advance well-being throughout their organizations. As a result of her leadership, the Stepped Care Model and associated digital tool have been adopted by several organizations.
Her expertise and experience is grounded in her academic training: a Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Guelph, and Bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology and Psychology from Lakehead University.
Nicole is a mission-driven, value-based and people-centered servant leader who is committed to developing people by inspiring them to perform and thrive, enabling us to continue delivering exemplary specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care.
Please join us in welcoming Nicole to her new role and exciting chapter of her career.
We also want to take this opportunity to express our thanks to Rohit Tandon for his interim coverage of the VP People and CHRO portfolio for the past few months as we went through the recruitment process and until the April 14th transition. His steadfast strategic leadership has allowed us to continue to move forward with our work, support our people, and enhance ongoing collaboration between the People and Corporate Services portfolios.
