The Research Ethics Board (REB) at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care reviews the ethical acceptability of all research involving human participants conducted within Waypoint or under its auspices, whether by Waypoint staff and students or external researchers using Waypoint patients/clients or Waypoint staff.
The REB has a diverse and experienced membership that includes scientists, clinicians, community members and those with specialized knowledge of law and ethics.
The REB endeavours to ensure that all reviewed research is conducted in accordance with:

- Part C Division 5 of the Food and Drug Regulations of Health Canada
- International Conference on Harmonization of Technical Requirements for the Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use Guidance E6: Good Clinical Practice: Consolidated Guideline (ICH-GCP)
- Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
- The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA)
