Announcing Cindy Ball as the newCindy Ball Director of Philanthropy 

Waypoint is pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Ball, an accomplished fundraising leader with 36 years of experience in the private and public sectors, as our new Director of Philanthropy. Cindy will be joining the hospital on Jan. 8, 2024.

In her capacity as the head of fundraising, Cindy will play a pivotal role within our leadership team, spearheading efforts to elevate our fundraising relationships and activities to new levels in support of Waypoint’s exciting priorities. She has many strengths and a wealth of expertise that will position her well to be successful in this redefined role at our hospital. 

A results-driven professional, Cindy brings a proven track record in sponsorship, major gifts, large-scale events, project management and working with senior volunteers. She is a creative thinker who is passionate about the work she does, and she is highly effective at cultivating relationships and driving impactful outcomes.  

Cindy currently serves as the Vice President, Development at Indspire, a national charity focused on supporting Indigenous students. Prior to joining Indspire, Cindy was Director of Development at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, as well as Vice President of its Foundation. 

She previously served as Director of Development at the Ontario Science Centre and was the Director of Development & Alumni Relations at OCAD University during the Ideas Need Space campaign that expanded the University’s campus, including the iconic Sharp Centre for Design. She was recognized as an Honorary Alumni for her contributions to the organization. 

Cindy has volunteered on many boards. She currently serves on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Canada's Government Relations Committee and GR Strategy Group and Universities Canada's Scholarship Roundtable. Cindy has achieved the designation of Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and is a member of AFP and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners.
