Waypoint’s annual “An Evening to Shine the Light” fundraiser on Nov. 22 was truly unforgettable.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, donors, auction supporters, and Canadian comedian and motivational speaker Susan Stewart, we raised a record $208,000.
Proceeds from the evening will go to the
Breakthrough Fund, dedicated to supporting impactful research that improves mental health, addiction and geriatric care.
Our supporters’ commitment to changing lives through the advancement of compassionate care is inspiring, and we are truly grateful to have their help in cultivating a future of hope and resilience.
We were also excited to launch the new
Emergency Fund at the event, which was held at the Midland Cultural Centre. This fund was made possible thanks to many donors and the Sunderji family, who matched gifts, doubling the impact to assist patients.
The fund will help stabilize the lives of those in crisis, preventing small emergencies from becoming larger challenges, and ensuring that people are treated with dignity and care during a time of need, providing immediate help for essentials such as groceries, transportation, necessities and other challenges that could disrupt a patient’s mental health or addiction recovery.
Support to the fund will enable Waypoint to deliver compassionate care and make it possible to provide assistance when patients have nowhere else to turn when an urgent or unexpected need happens.
