Waypoint welcomes three new members to the Board of Directors
Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is pleased to welcome three new members to the Board of Directors. John Trikola, Kim Baker and Soumya Ghosh bring a range of professional experience that will serve to provide strong governance support and direction to the hospital in navigating a changing world in health care in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These new board members are joining us at an exciting time as we move forward with our Strategic Plan launched in 2020,” said Carol Lambie, Waypoint President and CEO. “All three bring years of experience in their respective fields, which will enrich and strengthen our team. Having a solid and dedicated board is especially important this year as we navigate our way through this pandemic. We are so grateful for all of our board members who donate their time and energy to improving mental health care in our region and across the province.”
John Trikola, a visionary innovator and business leader, is the president of Gardner Ross Corp. where he provides engagements to companies in the technology, manufacturing, and retail sectors; some with worldwide reach with facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Kim Baker is a health system leader and change champion who spent over a decade as Chief Executive Officer at Central Local Health Integration Network, one of the largest provincially funded home healthcare organizations, where she led transformative initiatives changing how the healthcare system delivers its best quality of care for patients.
Soumya Ghosh is an accomplished information technology and operations leader with over 22+ years of experience in the banking, financial services, and insurance industries across Canada and US. Soumya currently holds the position of Vice President at Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services.
The hospital also extends it thanks and appreciation to Catharine Bayles, Elisabeth Riley, and Cathy Backman, who have completed their terms with the Board of Directors.
“We are honoured by the dedication and passion of these three retiring board members in making mental health care a priority,” said Betty Valentine, Board Chair. “They brought a tremendous wealth of skills, experience and knowledge to the board and their expertise will be missed.”
Waypoint shared highlights of the last year through virtual presentations with a variety of stakeholders this year and looks forward to the future when the Annual Report to the Community in person event can be re-established. The hospital has also released its Annual Report for 2020/2021. To read the report please click here.
