Lujayn Mahmoud, BSc
Research Analyst
Lujayn joined Waypoint Research Institute in 2023 as a
Research Analyst. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of
Guelph, where she majored in Bio-Medical Science and minored in Neuroscience
and Family and Child Studies.
Lujayn’s interest in children’s healthcare led her to
support a variety of research projects at the Hospital for Sick Children.
There, she evaluated the efficacy and safety of home milrinone therapy for
pediatric end-stage heart failure. Lujayn also contributed to quality
improvement projects, including research on the use of intravenous
acetaminophen to reduce postoperative pain in surgical neonates. At Waypoint,
Lujayn is currently working on a systematic review on the efficacy of
nutritional interventions in reducing childhood/youth aggressive and antisocial
behaviour. Outside of work, Lujayn enjoys reading, creative writing, and
spending time with her family.
